    What tires are you using?

I would like to turn my 88 into an "almost" every day driver and I am interested to see what tires people are using for that purpose.

    Thanks

I think those tires you've got (BFG Trac-Edge) are God's gift to vulcanized rubber. Those are what I'd be running if they were available. Perfect for a Series Rover. Too bad they're discontinued. Now I've gone with BFG All-Terrains which are pretty good all-around'ers.

X2 ^. I'm running 33X9.50X15 BFG ATs because my Rover came with 15" wheels.

BFA ATs here too - 235x85x16
They've been great for around town and on the trails

Are those Trac Edges still on it? Keep them if so. Otherwise Cooper Discoverer ST in 235/85-16.

I run 2 sets of tires:

Street/light wheeling/hunting is the BFG MT/KM (old style!) 235/85/16. They work, not too loud in the road and comfortable. I like them because if I do end up in the muck, I just gotta grab 2nd gear and use a little bit of throttle .

My off road tires are 34x9.5x15 Super Swamper TSLs. These tires are absolutely dismal on anything except being aired down to 10 psi and off road (beadlocks are awesome). They are still on the truck and I just KNOW they are all flat spotted to crap...the drive to work is gonna be bumpy tomorrow morning

              Running these....

The PO put these bad boys on.....I keep expecting them to fall apart but they seem to be wearing like iron. Noisy on the road but did fine in Death Valley. Manufactured in Poland by a company now owned by Michelin. I'm thinking of switching to 5.5x15 to get more tyre choices than the 5x16 I have on now. The last photo is my spare, also a leftover from the PO.

That spare is a NDT/Bar Grip military type tire, IMHO they look really great on a LR but aren't very good on wet/icy pavement.

Goodyear Workhorse Radial Extra Grip do pretty well all around.

BF Goodrich's Commercial Traction T/A is good too.

I have two sets of tires. For everyday driving I bought some 7.5x16 Bridgestone ultra grips from a guy on this forum. For off roading ect I have a set of 7.5x16 bfg trac edges which are like new. Had to buy the everyday driver tires because I didn't want to wear out the trac edges

We put a set of 235/85 Commercial TA's on youngest son's Disco a year ago. They've done well for him in snow, sand, etc.

I've got a set of about half worn 7.50-16 TracEdge in the garage that I replaced with 235/85 version on my Disco and took forever to wear out.

I'd run those 7.50 on the Series until they were shot.
                      Don't worry, you're biodegradable.

I run a 215/85/r16 load range 'E'. Roughly equivalent to the old 7x16. Squeezes on the 5" rim. Good all around tread and has ciping to walk through deep snow.

How are those Bridgestones working out for you? Personally, I have not run them yet so I don't know how well they perform. I plan on running a set on my Toyota FJ45 pickup as well as my new IIA 88" if I can find a set of used 16" rims. It came with 15's but I would like to run 16's just so I can run those Bridgestone tires.

Do you have a picture of the Bridgestones on your Rover? I would love to see how they look.

Here's a picture of the bridgestones on my rover. I think they look correct.
I have not tested themoff road. Seem fine on road, no issues.
BTW I found out how to quiet down a rover, take the top off!
