    Replaced Solex with Weber...sort of.

So, I had my local wrench shop replace my Solex with a Weber, but, the kit was incomplete- no new bellcrank, but the our hosts said the old bell crank from the SOlex could work if it was tweaked. Has anyone done this?

I just replaced my Solex with a rebuilt one from RDS ,direct replacement no adapters or linkage changes and it kept it stock. For about the same price of the weber retro fit. Some thing to consider.

        McQo1,
Rovers down south.Guys name is George. http://roversdownsouth.com/series-engine.htm its on this page towards the bottom left. You need to send the core back to him .His rebuilds are sent back to Solex and rebuilt .
This carb was engineered for this engine. You can clean the jets without taking the carb apart.
If you have the original spec. carb I would consider keeping it or at least holding on to it for future rebuild.

Solex doesn't exist anymore. George sends them to a specialist in the UK to have them rebuilt.
