    Stable Defender Mirrors

I have replaced my mirrors with the defender style. The shaking and rattling has stopped...however, after a few miles they being to start to shift down some from the wind hitting them.

Is there a tension-er bolt of something to adjust to stop them from happening?

They do that so you can see how much oil you're losing while you drive.

There is a small hex key bolt on the underside that controls the clamping force of the adjusting joint.

Are yours the attached-to-the-ball-joint type of fitting or the attached-to-the-rod type of fitting? What brand.

I had that issue on mine, which is the latter. I used some Araldite to hold the offending/slipping bracket in place. The mirror is still adjustable through its own hemispherical adjuster thingy. Mine are Spafax.

You can see the tension adjustment bolt I mentioned in your photo.

I wonder if the goggles have integral screen wipers?

Its not just the MOD that are using them. The Aussies have them for their SAS as the 'Nary' and the US and Nethelands are alledged to have placed orders for them too. Contrary to the popular press the MRAP is not the answer to all the military's needs.

The Jackal 2 is a redesign using various mods to the roll cage/weapons mount and various other drive train and structural mods deemed useful from initial deployment. There is a Jackal 2A but I'll leave that up to your research.

There is a 6X6 variant called the Coyote.

When you look into the technology employed it is a very cool machine. IIRC you can get up to 1M of ground clearance from the variable height suspension and it'll do up to 80mph on road and up to 50mph off road in the right conditions.

Needless to say I want one!
