    Drilling into Roof

I am thinking about attaching a piece of aluminum running down the center of my roof to hang things on with hooks, rope, etc.... My thought is to take a yard stick size of aluminum, drill three holes, take 1 inch spacers, run screws through the spacers and then tap them into the roof.

Seeing how the roof has the "runner board" on dead center, I was thinking that the screw would go inside that area and not be exposed to the elements. If I do that would I create a leak?

    roof holes...

I would not think it would leak, but I would use thread serts or similar to attach them and squirt some hylomar or silicone up into the hole just for the hell of it.
I use the threadserts for everything on my series. work great with stainless bolts, cheap enough from jc whitney, I buy 50 at a time..
I would think our hosts would sell these little things along with the tool rather than have us shop elsewhere. I love one stop shopping...
