    According to the wsm for the 2.5 it's 6L / 11pints
I put in 4 & 1/2 quarts and was on the high side of the dip stick

      Nick,
My 2.5 NAD holds between 6 and 6.5 quarts with a filter change. Did you change your filter when yo only had to put in 4.5 qts?

Ben racking my brain on this one and just figured it out. The oil I used didn't come in a gallon - it was one of those gallon + 1 qt containers then I added another quart (maybe two, I dont really remember). I know the dip stick was (and surprisingly still is) on the high side of full.

Sounds like you figured it out. About 6 qts is good.

I don't have any info on the 2.5, but for my 2.25 I've always used 7 1/2 quarts for a oil change.

My shop manual says 13 pints plus 1.8 pints for the filter = 14.8 pints = 7.4 quarts.

I do have electronic (scanned PDFs) of the 2.5 WSM - someone here was nice enough to share them. I'm all to glad to do the same if anyone needs it.
