    Military vs 'Regular' Gas Tank

Can a military fuel tank be fitted to a Series IIA 88 without any modification to the chassis? They appear larger and I hear are thicker. I know that along with a new fuel tank would be different hosing/hardware, etc.

And just how much of a difference in capacity would such a change bring?

The military tank should fit directly in place of the civilian version. The original military tanks from my Lightweight are constructed the same as a civilian tank, and they are the same capacity. So, unless you are adding a tank under the LH seat you would not gain any capacity.

Also, you wouldn't need any hoses at all with the military tank since it is filled directly at the top of the tank.

If you are looking for a military tank or two, send me a PM. I have both original tanks from my Lightweight available as I installed heavy duty Dutch military tanks.
