Back end looks more like a "Jeepster" than the "1930's roadster" that was (according to the dialog) their aim. 3,500 hours in the build, not my taste, but it must appeal to someone.

I think it looks pretty cool. Wonder what it feels like to drive. Clearly its not something I'd want to drive off road too much. Is it a 109 chassis or all custom?

Not sure what they did to the steering system, but he seems pretty brave to have his thumbs wrapped around the steering wheel like that considering how fast he is traveling off-road.

ahh! you have good eyes. yes, that's my avatar, but no need to apologize, i think it is a bit crazy too. you have to give them credit for follow through at least, and looks somewhat stable. (anyone notice that it seems like they changed the slope of the footwells? maybe just the angle). all in all great for doing donuts in turnip fields.

i can't see it being a 'big seller' but i also thought the Porsche Cayenne was (and is) a stupid idea and someone is buying those. my apologies to anyone on the boards who owns one. (i would be interested in breaking into whatever field enables you to buy such toys!)

It's in the front if memory serves me. It's nicely done. Most resto mods suck a$$ badly.

I just watched the "grip" video and there is a shot under the hood. Looks like the engine sits back from its stock location by a foot or two. I don't understand the language but I am guessing its a V8...it was running the cannister style air breather.

I have to say that I think it looks pretty cool. Would prefer a 110 chassis'd version with power steering, disc brakes, and a full roll cage and decent hard top. I saw some photos when I was looking around and there was one with a rove roof that was rather ugly.

Damn this thread...now I am looking at my 109 that needs a lot of work and thinking....and looking at my good chassis'd bad body 88 range rover and thinking...hmmm 100" wheelbase longnose...proportions look pretty cool.

There are some very nice touches in that truck. Did you notice the nearly two foot increase in foot room? Combine that with the relocated peddles and a rearranged seat and I bet it feels like a race car all the way up to 30 miles per hour. After that and you are on your own.

Seriously though, I'm taking notes on the use of leather with the metal dash. That interior is pretty nice and something to consider.

It's a project we should take notes from. End execution may not be quite our cup of tea but how they got there is awesome.

I'm thinking that my 1988 range rover could donate its suspension and 100" wheelbase chassis to a project like this in combination with the rear tub and doors from my 109. I've been wanting a 2 door/pickup bodied 109 instead of a 4 door.

Awesome metalworking skills there. I liked it better unpainted, with the black wheels and no spare on the back (which sort of ruins the lines of the Kamm tail). All in all not really my bag but it sure would be fun to run in the desert!
