      That's what I used. It's fine. Get the small container, you'll not need much.

        Ignoramus question of the day:

        What exactly does anti-scuff paste do?

        I recall it being referenced in the instructions when I installed my overdrive back in '92.

          It's a high temp lubricant for the contact area where the OD fits in with the transmission. different from high temp greases and different consistency. it reminds me more of a graphite or anti-seize compound in terms of 'feel', although it is neither.

          it's good stuff, but i've heard it's not necessarily necessary. this from a guy specializing in OD rebuilds. that said, i consider it cheap insurance, since it's called for, and have used it during my rebuild.

          **EDIT*** it won't run or "scuff" off due to high temps and normal contact, but will stay in place until manually wiped away, basically.
