    Mark III air intake cover

I'm looking for a intake cover for a MarkIII, I guess the later Smiths used the same? If anybody has a spare they would like to sell drop me a line.

Actually I'm looking for the earlier vintage one, a metal one with the expanded metal screen.

The 'metal one" is S2A, and the hole in an S3 wing is too big be to covered with an S2A vent screen.

Yes, it has to be a 2a.The inner flange takes a 4 1/2'' heater duct. The hole in the wing has yet to be cut. I've been avoiding that task, the thought of cutting into a perfectly good wing just doesnt sit right.

That being the case, use a hole saw, slow.....very slow. You'll be fine.

Not by me for certain. Maybe others can do it. I have 2 4 1/2" hole saws, and see no immediate need for one (let alone 2). If you promise to return it, I'll loan you one.

Funny you should say that. I may actually have a late 2A skin with the hole already in it. Too cold and dark to check now. I'll look in the AM, if I don't get kicked out before then.
