Remove tumbler barrel from ignition switch?

Does anyone know how to remove the tumbler (key thingy) from the ignition switch? 11a, positive earth.

I bought a new ignition switch because charge light wont go on and I think its faulty, but didnt get a new key and tumbler. Not sure if I should have done that, because now that the old switch is out its difficult to remove the key portion.

    tumbler

There should be a small hole in the side that you stick a nail (or something small) into and gently push and that should unlock it. you may want to put some WD-40 etc. into the hole before you try removing the tumbler. This information comes to you from very far back in my foggy ole' Gray Cells.

I also think you need the key inserted into the lock but it has been a while since I've done one.

Thanks, I got it out. You were both correct ... little hole for a nail then tug the tumbler out, and key needs to be in.
