    Gearbox Swap

    Wondering if a complete gearbox and transfer case from a series III will go into a 1969 series IIa?

      they will go in. There are things that need to be changed though. The clutch linkage is different, the handbrake assembly may be different..you will have to notch the frame crossmember to clear the SIII driveline...I took this photo of the series III clutch mechanism and the interference with the IIA Chassis. I used a grinder to create clearance...its not pretty but it fits.
