I would bet your stuff wore out coincidentally the same time you put in brake fluid. From what I have seen in rovers the rubber seems to be the same as any other vehicles I have worked on. If you google the Castrol LMA you can see that lots of other people asked Castrol when they did their new packaging and they indicated the fluid is the same. Realistically, they both taste the same to me...
