    Water Pump leak

What would cause a water pump to leak when the truck is stopped? I took the truck out for a drive and when I parked it there was water leaking from under the water pump for about a minute after I shut the truck off. I don't see it leaking while the truck is running.

The pressure in the cooling system pushes the fluid past the worn seal or bearings. That's why it leaks after it's shut off. It probably leaks while it's running too but the fan disperses it enough so you don't notice it.

Leaking when it is stopped is a classic sign that an old water pump seal is on its way out. Usually start to leak when things cool down and are static.
