today, I reinstalled rear 10" brakes, hubs, bearings and seals. After brake drums were installed the hubs have more noticeable drag, The adjusters are backed off-the shoes retracted. Is this something that is ordinary and will just require the vehicle be driven a bit? Or, is something wrong with my installation?

When are you seeing drag? Of you simply slide the drum on and check, you will usually have a decent amount of drag (especially with new shoes & drums). This is usually due to the drum not being seated on the hub. Install 2 or 3 lug nuts and snug them down to seat the drum then check for drag again. There may be just be a hint of drag, but it shouldn't be significant. If there is significant drag, then check the drums & shoes. Remember that new parts are not always made correctly.Comment

drums v hubs
If it is drums (rather than hubs): No, I have not turned them, but think this is at least a contributing factor. I don't think it is the sole explanation but drums can benefit from being turned.Comment

OK, what brand of shoes were they?
FWIW, I've never heard of having to machine a hub for a simple brake job either.Jason

Good point Jim, that also helps reduce noise and the tendancy for them to grab.Jason
