    safari roof vent seals

should these be replaced as needed?
do they really stop water from getting in or its just a metal on metal seal?
i am getting some little drips from the vents, but we have been killed with very heavy rains lately..

This is all there is in the way of vent seals:

    --Mark

    1973 SIII 109 RHD 2.5NA Diesel

0-54mph in just under 11.5 minutes
    (9.7 minutes now that she's a 3-door).

Hmm. My roof vents are one of the only things that don't leak on my 88".

RDS has roof vent seals (I didn't see them available from our hosts); they're cheap enough.

yeah cheap, but a PITA to do.. have to drill out all the rivets..
but it’s almost a foam seal.. I don’t think its water tight.. I assumed it was a metal on metal cushion..
my whole LR leaks.. I’ve come to terms with it..

Will be doing this job in the next few weeks, but my roof is completely disassembled already! Mark, do you have a PDF of that page you posted, but specific to a 88?

          Cheers,

Only as part of a much larger PDF. Here's a .jpg if that helps:

Bookmark this ASAP. I refurbished my vent seals a couple years ago. It was a pain in the keister but they dont leak. Can't imagine how they leak when closed and covered by a sunshield. Those brits are clever!
