      Close but no cigar...

Due to family and weather I was detained. I did show up however sunday morn 8:30 ish to show off my awards and play in the mud with friends. Alas I saw only tail lights as people packed up and said their goodbyes.
I'm sorry I did not get to see all of you but come hell and high water I will be there next year, I will be teaching a winching and safety class as requested by our host. New leather gloves will be handed out as part of the class. Come learn how to use your winch to it's full potential... I will also be bringing some sand / bridging ladders courtesy of the U S Army circa WWII.
These are steel and will bear the full weight of our trucks at a 45' angle, much safer than aluminum, but a bit heavier..( 29 kg for the pair)
Cheers and I hope to see you at the next camping trip in Antrim NH on the weekend of the 8-9 of Oct...

Whence came you my brother ? From the East....

Fun weekend and it was good to see everyone again. I spent about an hour and a half blasting the mud off the truck. That stuff was packed in everywhere underneath (still no comparison to that red MAR mud). Then another hour to replace the winch solenoid that went while trying to get out of the pit of sloppy goodness!

              Great Pix !

Sorry I missed a great event, though I am not sure about missing the mud bog.

Looking forward to a winch demo for next year.

Here is what drained out of the transmission after getting home. I never noticed when the brake happened. How serendipitous that RN did a tech demo on transmissions at the event. One thing I did forget was the incompatibility for swapping bellhousing between synchro and non synchro transmissions. Anyone recall that bit of detail?

The non-suffix and suffix A boxes on the earlier II trannys used a smaller lay shaft bearing (I pretty sure) so the bell housing won't work with the SIII or later IIa suffix transmissions. They are easy to tell apart as they have openings on both sides for the clutch mechanism.

I think that might be part of the main or layshaft. I forget which. You said you thought your main shaft was worn last time you were in there right? Probably it.

Jason, the problem is you are only rolling one dice, roll two and see what you come up with
