    Here it comes....

....the hurricane that is. I've moved all the deck furniture, moved the vehicles from under the trees, the kids actually picked up all their toys in the lawn.....battled the hornets to clean the gutters (ouch!)...made sure the saw has gas and is working. Picked up my hurricane survival gear at the packie...

Good luck to the rest of you! Bring it on Irene!

      Hurricane

Went out to the boat one last time, made sure the mooring was secure and pulled out the inflatable with the ambulance, ready to go back in when this all passes

Same here in Dudley, in Southern Worcester county. Moved all the cars out from under the trees to the other side of the house.

As my project car is in a fabric garage, it took the covering off and wrapped engine in tarp. From bulkhead back is exposed to the elements..... A precursor to the powerwashing I plan for next week prior to painting the frame (from bulkhead back). Hope the shower is good for it. At least I'll have the fabric structure after the storm.....

Might not need to power wash if the hurricane is good enough!

I really hope you guys are safe, and you're obviously doing better than this rover owner who should have their green oval license revoked:

So funny. We actually performed each & EVERY one of these steps too. Only exception: I blindly reached into the gutter and grabbed a handful of yellow jacket nest (no hornets for me). Luckily, I was only stung once, but I've never moved that fast on a roof before!

I just watched the news and they said that my town is estimated to get 11.3 inches of rain!!! Is that enough rain for the grass seed I put down on Tuesday?

Maybe they're trying to prevent it from reproducing.

Oh yes, the infamous rover condom. Unfortunately it's made by Lucas...and leaks....

That happened recently whan a Nissan Murano was in heat--It was jumped by a Range Rover wearing a Lucas condom and this was the unintended result:

Broadstone, I'm with you. I have a 200' x 20' freshly topsoiled area I just seeded on Thursday that is on a slope. Expect to be doing that again as we're expecting heavy rain also.
