    Australia!!!

I am down in Australia for a few weeks and staying with some friends who happen to have rovers. He has a nice regular Series 2a regular 109 with a holden engine and high ratio diffs, sunshade, etc. He also picked up a reasonably clean S1 project for very little $$$. I have seen a very clean defender 130 crew cab down here and a very nicely setup newer 110. Lots of cool land cruisers too. Have to say I have fallen in love with the Land Cruiser HJ79's (think thats the one)...troopy's as they are referred too. newer ones have a V8 turbo diesel.

The early ones are eligible now to import here. Problem is finding one that is not on it's last legs, or is affordable. When I was down there, I saw a few hitop camper conversions on the Toyoyas, that led me to search for a Carawagon, and ended up with my 110 hitop ambulance.

The name says it all: The Lost Coast. You might think California is played out and too crowded, but America's third largest state still has plenty of remote terrain to explore, and lots of places to lose yourself—especially on two wheels. The tucked-away corner of
