    Weber 32/36 tuning.

    Hi, i am about to embark on the semi monumental task (for me anyways) of tuning my Weber 32/36 so it doesn't run rich. Right now its belching black smoke.

    Do any of you out there run a Weber 32/36, and if so did you tune it at all or just use the settings out of the box. when i bought my carb i had it set up for high altitude, and if i am thinking correctly:

    High altitude=less air, less air=less gas. So it should have been running lean? Anyways.....

    If any of you are around sea level and are running a 32/36 and you know what your jet sizes are could you please "hook a brother up"? This should help give me some where better to start off from.

    For those of you who know and may ask "stock or mod engine" here is what has been done:

    2.5L cam, Header to glasspack exhaust, Pertronix ig, .060 over, K&N air filter.

    Air fuel meters are going to be your best bet, for tuning.

      I just warm the truck up and adjust the air fuel mixture screw to where the engine will rev the cleanest/quickest. twist the screw, push the linkage floored really quick, and let go. make sure the truck is up to full operating temp, because you'll find it runs badly to your new setting if you don't. I have been doing this all winter and spring as I have beendriving my 88 back and forth 200 miles each way from college to home and back each weekend. it has worked well enough for me, it may not be exact enought for you though.

        here is some info

        Aside from the general thoughts of the 32/36 conversion, the suggested sea level jetting is listed here.

        i have a new pierce kit for my motor and it should be jetted as suggested here ( I havent checked and everything else was wrong, so it may be jetted wrong too)
        Anyway, it doesnt run quite right. I think its too rich even at sea level.

          I have been all over her website and never saw that. Good info, i will try and track down the jets and let you know what happens.

            i have the same. don't know the jets size i've got. just know that at 5700 ft it idles well, gets about 13 mpg
