    Alternator Upgrade

I believe that I have a 34amp alternator in my 1970 LWB w/ 6 cyl engine ... Is there a kit or someone who has put in a larger output unit? Would like 85-100 amps ... Thx...

If you indeed have a proper alternator bracket then you can install a Delco cs 130 alternator that will put out 220 amps.
If you have the wimpy Lucas generator then you should start shopping for the alternator conversion bracket.

I converted from the generator to a 78amp Delco alternator by making my own bracket. If I can fabricate a bracket, anyone can.

Not to beat an already dead horse..... try search, alternator.... Ike makes and sells the bracket. The conversion is easy . If you need extra schooling please see .

as a fellow 6cyl owner, I'll tell you the bracket doesn't fit our engines, and there is no easy bolt on swap. I dealt with this a few months back and just had my alternator rebuilt after deciding I really didn't need the extra juice. I did discover a larger lucas alternator that would bolt in, but I can't remember what or where- I believe it was from a triumph.
