How do I determine what the original color of my 59 Series II, and whether it still has the original motor?

To find the original color of my 109, I got in contact with one of my friends in the UK through another LR forum, and gave him my chassis number, he looked it up at Gaydon archives. You can also go to their website and order a heritage certificate, which will give you your Rover's build history, when they started building it, when it was complete, the original color, where it was originallt shipped to etc. Really very good info to have, they also list the range of serial numbers for your Land Rover's build dates for the engin blocks that went into that date range. (ie: 1962-1965)
