74 siii 109 ex mod brake questions

    Hello,
I was hoping that someone could help with some basic questions about the brake system. 1. How do I know if it is a servo or non servo system? 2. I need to buy the pedal, mc and servo (if required). What are my best options?
    3. Does anyone have a diagram or pics of where the lines connect?

    Thank you

    Tasi

Chances are your 74 is a servo braked model. I have a 69 ex MOD that has a servo. I would check in with our hosts for parts, many times they have decent used parts for items like brake pedal towers and the pedal itself.

Without the Brake master cylinder in place with or without its servo I don't know the specifics to look for that would tell you definitively that yours needs a servo but I am pretty sure it does.

So Tasi, Are you saying that you don't have a brake pedal, pedal tower, etc? and therefore don't know if you require a booster servo? I haven't ever seen an S3, MOD or otherwise, that didn't have vacuum assisted brakes, so I'm comfortable in saying yes, you needs booster.
S3 pedal box differs from earlier, but I kinda remember that an S2A pedal box will work. I have an S3 if you get stuck, it's got a sevo and MC attached, but can't vouch for their condition.

        Tasi-
Here is some info I have. The pictures with the old chassis show a SIII with a brake failure valve, but the routing of the brake lines is the same.

S3 has boosted brakes. Pedal tower from S3 and early Defender same. 2A pedal tower fits S3, but S3 not fit S2. S2 not boosted.
Can use dual circuit master on S2, but need S3 lines.
