Will a Fairey OD set up fit on a 1967 Land Rover !!A with the 2.6 engine? Or are the made for the 4 cylinders?

      Help

Length of which linkage? There appears to be a strap that bolts to frame. Do I just buy one than weld the linkage to make it longer etc?

Buy two, for when the first one breaks. Only a matter of time....

The linkage that runs from the OD to the shift lever, where it comes through the tunnel cover. The 2.6 transmission and transfer case sit an inch or two further back, so that rod needs to be elongated. Yes, you should be able to just weld something on to extend it.

            just did one

the diff is something like 20 mm . The hole you need to drill for the shifter is just a bit further away. place the unit with all its straps without the shifter, the pivot nut is where you drill . It took me about an hour to install from new. I was lucky from most accounts. The big striated nut was just hand tight . Most have to use tnt to get it loose.
Whence came you my brother ? From the East....
