    venting Santana Overdrive

I have heard that venting a Santana overdrive will help with the significant leaks I have. My questions are 1) Is this a procedure I can do myself or do I need to hit a transmission repair shop? If I have to go to a shop is this a common thing they have heard of? 2) How do you do it? 3) What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this? I have looked online and found I need to drill a small hole through the inspection plate on top of the unit. I cannot find what diameter hole or any other guidance.

I know nothing about Santana's, but you should be able to remove the top cover, tap a hole for a barb, insert the barb and run some hose from it to a higher point. This should allow the pressure to escape without pushing the fluid out.

Have you contacted the manufacturer, or reseller of these? I'm guessing you have ruled out seals, etc. Could your fluid be of the wrong type, and thus foaming excessively?
