    Custom Floor Mats Series IIA

    Hello all.
I was thinking about building or maybe custom cutting some floor mats for my Series IIA.
Does anyone have a vector file which can be used as a template for an I cut machine.
    Thanks

    low tech

I made a template of my floor boards with paper and then traced and cut out a sheet of 1/4" rubber. Fit perfectly and took like 45 minutes and three beers

      Wing it

I just eyeballed it and measured here and there. Cut them out of 3/8 thick horse stall matting I bought from a farm supply place nearby. Nice fit.

I took a big sheet or two of newspaper and laid it in the floorboard. I then took a trim knife and pressed the newspaper in the corners and custom trimmed it to fit the whole floor and up in the bulkhead. If I messed up - I took another page from the funnies.

When I got done - I had a paper pattern of what I wanted. I laid the pattern on my Tractor Supply horse stall mat and traced it with a piece of chalk. Then followed with a trim knife and I was all set.

I made a pair today for my '59 88 pick-up using Firemanshort's method. Worked great. Two custom fit floor mats out of 1/4 inch stall mat in about an hour. (The 3/8 mats are in my wife's 109).

I still have the newspaper templates if anybody wants them.

Hey Dieter, run out to Orschelens like in Washington, or maybe Rural King in Wentzville, and grab a horse stall mat. That is where I got mine. Had enough to do the tub and two front mats. Come check mine out if ya want to before making the drive to Washington. We are in Overland now just off of Page and 170. Give us a shout D!

                    Thanks for the tip!

Well, I finally got around to finding the horse stall mat. I got the 3/4" maybe a bit to thick. But I got it to work. I had enough to do the front mats and the back. Thanks again.

Thanks, after driving with them on, I can definitely tell the difference as far keeping the vibrations down.

Just make sure you trim it from underneath your accelerator pedal (or readjust the stroke) otherwise you'll be trying to fix a "lack of power". (This happened to me many years ago with a set of floor mats, couldn't figure out why it wasn't as fast as before until I figured out I was only getting 3/4 throttle because the pedal was hitting the mat)

I did thanks, as I was cutting the mat, I relialized that the upper part would be to thick under the pedals, so I cut it just before my high beam switch.
I have another thinner mat underneath.
