    Hi all,

I have a 2.25 pertrol that i'm trying to start with the hand crank and it just won't start. Any tips?

If you've not started it in a really long time, you may want to begin with priming the fuel pump via the hand lever. Next, I crank it over several times BEFORE inserting the key. This moves oil around in the engine and fills my clear fuel filter. Then I go to the cab and double check the parking brake is on and shifter in neutral, turn the key, return to the bumper and spin the crank. My 2.25p will fire-up this way every time.

I did all those things. I even turned it on normally to let it warm up and then tried and still nothing.

Ya, try giving it a little throttle. If that doesn't work you can try loosening the distributor and retard the timing temporarily until it starts then reset it to normal.

What usually works for me though is to turn the key on and press the starter button
