    Seasonal Idle Adjustment

    <newbie>
    I have noticed that my IIa seems to idle differently depending on the seasons. When the temp drops below 50, I regularly need to choke the truck at stop lights.

    Besides, regular tuning etc. is there generally a seasonal rule of the thumb? Like in the winter increase the idle speed, etc.

    I'm willing to bet your rover isn't getting to its optimal operating temperature, and thus the need for the choke. You might look into a radiator muff, or on the more extreme side of things, running a different thermostat during the winter months.

      I would say that there is also a chance that it needs a tune up.

      There are definitely problems that become more apparent with cold weather.

      But once you are warmed up there shouldn't need to be an adjustment to the idle just because it is cold.

        Another thing to consider is that the fuel formula is changed from summer to winter in cold weather areas. I'm not sure of the exact facts but I've read various threads about this.
