Is that the ARB winch bumper for the LR3? I like the look of it, but not sure how you would see the spindle if it is covered by the bumper? How would you know if you have fouled the line?

Yes it is the ARB - its visability is a bit slim, but you can see. I use synthetic line so it is easier to handle. Bill Burke did suggest I cut a slightly larger access hole in the top of the bumper.

A brand new LR3 (Discovery Series 3 in Australia) was part of a convoy that crossed the Simpson Desert, which is a big trip that takes months and months of preparation, as it is an expedition style trip.

The D3 was very reliable and the only vehicle amongst a bunch of Discovery II vehicles.

Here is a couple of videos for your viewing pleasure:

I drive my LR3 off road regularly. This photo was taken in a potato field.

Got invited to the press release for the Aston Marton DBS - now that was a hell of a ride!

Made the DB9 look like a Honda Civic.

Now if I just knew of a company in the NorthEast that needed a salesman who has a passion for Land Rovers I would be a happy man.

                        Nice winch...

How did you get that one installed? I'd like to do something similar on my LR4...

I bought it installed, They are very hard to come by on this side of the pond. It's almost easier to get an ARB.

Did a previous owner do it or do you mean the dealer did it? I'd love to see more pics. Very curious how you keep the spool neat if you can't see it?

Previous owner had it installed at LR Bedford, NH. I am able to see the spool, as a matterof fact I just respooled it Sunday afternoon after using last weekend during the wheeling pic I posted above.
