Check engine & service engine light

Ok guys, this is an old question...Please refresh my memory on how to turn off the check engine light and service engine light on a 1990 RR Classic. Thank you!

Not sure on a 1990 but on my '95 the 'check engine' light is reset by disconnecting the battery ground (and hoping there are no faults that turn it back on) and the 'service engine' light is shut of by putting a thin object (I use the tube from a can of WD-40) into the service module, found under the back side of the pasenger seat. Service light comes on at given periods to remind you to service things and the check engine light shows a fault in the system (usually a sensor problem).
