    93' LWB Will Not Start - Ideas?

    I sold my 93' LWB to a friend a few weeks ago and as luck would have it, it's broken down in his front yard. Nothing wrong in the 4 years I owned it and he has it for a week and it won't start.

    It tries to start and will make an occasional sputter, but that's about it. He told me that it ran pretty low on fuel, so I thought perhaps it could be a fuel issue, but I'm not so sure now.

    What I know:

    - The fuel pump works (it has power and I can hear it running)
    - The Fuel Pump Related Fuses are not blown (at least the ones I can find)
    - I checked the inertia switch just in case and it's fine.
    - I changed the fuel filter (major pain in the ass, but thought perhaps it sucked up trash)
    - Checked spark (no issues here)

    I have read that there is a relay with a reset on it on the bulkhead, but for the life of me can't find it. Perhaps it is not on this year model.

    Anyway, does anyone have an other ideas?

    One thing I did not check was fuel pressure, I suppose that could be an issue as well.

    I heard the pump running, but it's possible that the pressure is so low it's not firing the motor.

    Does anyone know what kind of pressure I should see? I guess I can rent a guage from an auto store and hook it up to the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Turn the key and see what it reads, right?

      35 psi at the schrader valve.

        How many miles on the '93 LWB...? If it's over 150K, might as well swap out the fuel pump. I did @ 163K and it's made all the difference. I went from trickle to fire hose in 2 hours...

          No fuel delivery issues at all, the pump could of been changed out before me I suppose.

          Anyway, I'll check the pressure and a couple of other things before I drop a few hundred on a fuel pump.

            the ignition amplifier module on the distributor is dead. either replace it with the Lucas one (aftermarket ones are not very good) or wire in the GM HEI module (the one with the 4 spade connectors), which is about $20 and available at just about every auto parts store in the USA. It works fine with that.
            If it is the fuel pump, which I doubt, you need to replace only the pump part. You needn't drop hundreds of dollars on a whole new cartridge. You have to take it out anyway, so just get the NAPA pump and swap out the pump on the cartridge. I can walk you through this if you need help.

              Interesting, is the Iam mounted on the distributer or under the cap?

              is the gm an easy swap?

                Ignition module is the black rectangular thing on the side of the dizzy. It is about impossible to replace without pulling out the diz.
