    gear shift hadle removal

I want to take the consel out of the RR and can't figure out how the Handle comes of the shifter and how the part of the consel the shifter goes through removes as well.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

Is your vehicle a 94 or older?
If so, remove the plastic/wood trim piece on the top. This should just pry off.
Underneath this, there is a 17mm nut. Use a long, thin walled socket to remove this.
Also at this pont, you will see an "e" clip, prise this off and the outer sleeve of the shift handle should lift off.

      Thr Rover is 1992

Thanks for the info. I thought it might come off and even tried to pry it off but it did not seem to move. I will try it again.

      Thanks
