    door locks

I know this is a silly question but I just bought an old 1995 LWB Classic for $2300. It runs good but the remote key lock didn't come with car. I don't and can't find any door lock switches inside the truck. Do you think it only auto locks by the remote key?

    Hi Mike

Rover at that time had an unlock sequence so that if you lost the remote you could still get in if you know the 4 digit number by clicking the key in the lock so many times to the left, then to the right for the next digit, then left for the third and right for the fourth. The number SHOULD have been recoreded by the previous owner. If it wasnt you are stuck until you can get your car to a RR dealer who has a computer or you buy a nice little unit from Rovacom (www.rovacomlite.com) to interogate your ECU. If you check on eBay you can buy new remotes quite cheaply and you can reprogram them by popping them open (as you would to replace the battery) and setting some switches. Roversnorth may also have them.

Good luck and a good price to pay. Its about what I paid for my 1989 RRC.

    Happy new year

    Paul

      Mike,

My recently acquired 1995 Classic SWB didn't come with the key fob either. After looking for the usual push button lock switch in the interior, I discovered that by lifting up or pushing down the drivers door lock, it automatically locks/unlocks all of the doors. To lock/unlock all of the doors from the outside I just have to insert the key in the driver’s door and turn.

If yours doesn't auto lock as described check your fuses- that fixed mine.

      Hope this helps...
