    Getting at the A/C Blower?

My 92 Classic burned something up in the heater/a/c blower unit- smoke came out of the dash when i switched the heater on, I quickly pulled fuses and shut it down, luckily the whole thing didn't go up in smoke. Anyway, I need to fix the heater fan etc on this and am wondering if there is a quick route in to get at this or do I need to completely disassemble the dash? a brief Idea about what I might find if this happened to you?
    thanks

Ditto...In the process of fixing rusty toe boards I thought it would be easier to remove the dash and replace the heater core and fan motor while I was there. Got about half way and said to hell with it...was easier to become a circus contortionist to replace the rust than to take the dash down!

thanks guys. I may be just investing in some thermal underwear instead. I've got the ac working. The heat sort of works if i open the vents and adjust the temp.

Plan for at least twelve hour for your first foray into the dashboard of a Rangie. Expect the plastic to be brittle and easily broken if you stress things too far.

Not a job for the faint of heart, but once you've done it, it's quite a rite of passage.

After having done many, I can now do the job in about six or seven hours.
