    Other Favorite Vehicles

Deep down I know that every Land Rover enthusiast appreciates great automobiles; the same qualities that attract you to Land Rovers also connect you with other significant cars and trucks.

For a planned article in the Rovers North News, I'd love to know vehicles you own as an enthusiast, and/or vehicles you wish you could own but can't right now. What makes them right for you?

You can post your thoughts on this thread, send me a PM, or email me directly at jrh@foxislands.net.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeff

OK - I'll post up first here...

I've always liked the late-80s to 1995 Bentley Turbos. Whether the lwb chassis or not, amazing cars. Pretty decent deals out there now too...don't own one now, would love to, soon.

I am also a reformed Buick Turbo Regal/Grand National addict. Have had several of those and the enthusiast community around those cars is just like the one for Rovers - knowledgable, opinionated, willing to help, always chasing a good deal and wanting to tinker with the cars.

        Favorites I'd like to own

I have a black 1992 Range Rover County which I think would look good next to:

an early 1980's Mercedes station wagon (I call it the Christmas tree car, because its roof looks perfect for hauling them)

        a Citroen DS sedan

        and a Jaguar E-Type convertible

Until then I'm always happy in a Range Rover Classic.

My garage (and barn) contain a Porsche Boxster S, Jaguar XJ8 and Range Rover Classic. For the all-too-few nice days in Michigan, I also have a Harley Road King Classic.

            Favorite Cars I have Owned

First let me say that is an awesome Rover Conversion Les,

Some of my previous daily drivers include:

1979 Datsun 280ZX 2+2 - Very good handling and acceleration

1986 Volvo 240 DL - Even more awesome performance than the Z,

1996 Bronco XLT - Last of the full size Bronco's with a 351 c.i. monster

1986 MB 420 SEL - This was a fantastic road car. Personal favorite.

1986.5 Porsche 928 S - 32 valve 5.o liter in a beautiful aluminum body, bought for wife as anniversary present, took it away from her for smoking in it. Beautiful but very expensive to maintain.

            Now, I enjoy the Discovery I (1997)
