    Adding refrigerant

I need to add some refrigerant to my '91 Classic's a/c and I want to make sure I add to the correct line. I have done this on my other autos, just never my RR. There are two colored caps, one blue and one red. I would assume I would use the line with the blue cap, correct? I don't know, maybe you can only add to the correct line, thus removing the possibility of adding to the wrong one? My system has been converted so there is no need to touch that issue...Thanx for any info !!!

By refrigerent, do you mean for the air con or coolant for the engine?

If coolant then you need the blue stuff. The red or pink stuff is long life anti-freeze and it designed for the more modern engines. You can use it but make sure you drain the system completely as it will go sludgy brown if you mix it (trust me....I know....).

you should only be able to add it to one side....the fill connections should be different for the high and low pressure sides.

          Low Pressure Blue

Add to the low pressure side. There should be a sticker telling you how much to add if the conversion was done right. If memory serves me right, I recall a max of 22 lbs. Most cans of R134a comes with a gauge and hose that only connects to the low pressure side. You state that you have your own hook-up. Whist at the store take a look at the gauges and seek the normal level that will be marked in green.
