93 Classic - A/C, Heater, Fan not working

The blower quit working a couple of days ago - I''ve checked the switch and everything is connected and looks ok, and the fuse for the ''fan'' in the center console fuse box is ok. I get nothing from the fan, whether it''s switched to heat or A/C. Does anyone know if there is another fuse or relay that I should check? Is there a fusible link for the fan? Or anything else that might be causing this problem?

Sounds like the fan is bad. PITA to replace.

Keep in mind that there are two blower motor assemblies. One is in the heater box and provides movement for the heat. The other is under the passenger footwell that are for the A/C.

It is unlikely that both blower motors failed at the same time. Continue checking the electrical.

will do - thanks and hopefully it is electrical and not the fan(s). I agree- the likelihood of both going out at the same time is remote. That said, are there any relays or other fuses (beside dash panel) i should check?

It may be the resistor in the dash, pull the screen on the cowling ,passenger side ,two screws .(the little black screens you see when standing in front of the rover with the hood down.

If you have no power to either fan (AC or heater) then it is probably the resistor thing under the cowl. This is a common failure, and the repair is not easy. It means that the hood, the wiper arms and the cowl have to be removed. It is a two person job, even though I have done it enough times by myself!
You can get an updated solid state unit that replaces the wound wire one. I don't know if RN sells one but I think Atlantic British still does. once you get access to the unit it is a couple screws and it swaps right out.
Now, all that said, my friend Rob was able to get his hands in there without taking all that stuff off. Amazing. I could never even have attempted it but he did it somehow. He got a new resistor pack in and even got the side screws back in place. Freaky.

Can't explain why but all ac/heat functions started working on ride home tonight. I am sure it will be dead again tomorrow. Gremlins. I saw the replacement resistor on atlantic britidh. I am going to replace the resistor and see if that brings some consistency to operation. Thanks for help and will report back after I get part and complete replacement.

Turned out to be bad fan switch. All working now for about a week. Motor is probably going to be next. Making a lot of noise. Thanks all for help
