was looking at using an msd ignition in my 88 rr. was wondering if anyone has tried these or if it is compatable in a rover?

I've never used one on a Rover - I did have a Lumenition unit in the SD1 - but I've used MSD's on Pontiacs / Fords / Chevy / Renault all with great satisfaction.

Be sure you get the one that does what you want it to.....I doubt the variable redline limiters are high on your "must have" list for example, and I think you'll be happy.
    Don't worry, you're biodegradable.

went with the basic set-up. for anyone else looking into it you will need the msd inline adapter for the tach/fuel injectoin. it was an extra $50 but solved the no start after installing the msd box. not much room under the hood for mounting. i slipped it in under the air box, behind the triangle shaped fender bracket. tight fit but should be fairly well protected from mud/water etc.

as for the results: smoothed out idle a bit. a bit snappier in the midrange. some of this may have improved with factory parts. the origanal coil was definately toast (both +/- post twist right out when trying to remove the wires) my thought was if it needed replaced anyway i wanted to try something i always wanted.

        Wiring?

Cool..just what I'm about to do with '93 LWB. Specifically, how did you wire it up? Did you look into a MSD distributor?
