    Updated radio in classic

Has anyone put in an updated radio in thier classic? The screen on mine factory radio no long works along with several of the buttons. I would like to replace it with a modern radio that has an ipod jack and maybe a little better perfromance.

    Thanks,

    Replacement stereo

Hi. Check out the Jensen JHD3510 Heavy Duty. Has CD, iPod controls, NOAA alerts/weatherband. Best of all it looks like a factory radio. I can send pics if you want.

i went with an alpine xda-001. no cd player but a very nicely integrated iPod control and faily clean look, not too many gaudy lights or knobs. a little tight in back but it fits and works well

I've got an Alpine IDA-X200 in my 88. It was a tight fit, but it will go in if you get all the extra cable out of the way.

FYI - The USB memory access of this unit is almost the same as the iPod control. I just leave a $15 - 8 GB memory stick plugged up to it and leave the $$$ iPod at home.

A new stereo install takes about 30 minutes and you won't even get your hands dirty.

          Piece of cake.
