    Window Problems 93 classic (swb)

I just purchase my first Rover. I love the car, but the previous owners did not take care of the underbody and the wheel weels very good, and therfore I am running into some electrical problems. While fixing a hole in the drivers side footwell up against the outside wheel well, I cause the front windows on both sides to not function. They were working fine for the past 3 weeks until I started working in the footwell area towards the door. Did I cause an electrical issue? Is there electrical wires of significance in this area? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My drivers side window is stuck in the down position...winter is just around the corner, any advise would be awesome....thanks in advance...Brian

look in the post about 'windows, doors and locks', les suggest checking a ground or power supply in the area you were working on... otherwise, try checking the window lift ecu under the center cubby box. my harness has a tendency to loosen and i have to play with it to make the windows work sometimes

Thanks dieselrangerover, I will look there once the weather clears up here in Ohio, cold and rainy. When you mention the lift ECU under the center cubby box, do you mean the center box that contains the window up and down switches? Thanks again for your reply I do appreciate it very much...

yes there are wire down there,

yes that is where the wires come ut from the door, I had the same Problem, with a hole in the floorboard. check them, i am betting you accidently cut one, or?? you can always take the door panel off, and run a jumper from the battery to the lift motor wires.

Thanks I will be working on it tommorrow and will keep an update as to how things are progressing. Thanks for your help. I bet when I was drilling a whole for the mud flap up throught the fllor panel, I must have hit something. The mud flap is deteriating due to rust.
