3rd brake light wiring?

I have a beater of an old 1991 RRC and can not for the life of me figure out the wiring for the 3rd brake light? The light is in the pod on the bottom of the rear window but how does it connect? My tailgate may not be original if that matters. The light does not work and I can't see any wire to it.

rigth side rear of the roof to the right of the rear speaker... pull down on the head liner and you will find the plug, it runs the tailgate power lock and 3rd brake light.

Yep what he said. Mine wasnt working either, there is a big black wrapped thing up there. I had to take my wrapping off and re solder all the connections and now it works perfectly.
