    FS 2000 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY II TreK #2 COMPETITION EVENT VEHIC. 81K MILES RUNS GREAT

    Regretfully listing my solid, 100% California rust-free 2000 LandRover Discovery Series II, a rare, original TreK competition vehicle. This Discovery is #2 of the 15 built by Land Rover Special Vehicles Division for the 2000 TREK Competition event in West Virginia.
    I never thought that I would sell it. Unfortunately, I am looking at an upcoming deployment yet again, and I do not wish to just leave this TreK sitting for a year. So I am looking for a Land Rover enthusiast to take ownership of this rare vehicle.

    Solid, completely rust-free ONE-OWNERCalifornia Land Rover, residing here its entire life since being purchased from Land Rover of GA in 2002. It was purchased by an English gentleman for $65K ! with 1100 miles on the clock. It has resided up here the Northern CA Bay area since.

    This TreK is completely original, exactly as it was originally built, right down to the super-rare low rise SAFETY DEVICES rack. Low 82K original miles, low for a Land Rover. It starts immediately, idles and drives flawlessly, quietly and smoothly on both town and on the highway, with no leaks or smells. Its original key is marked # 2.

    There is NO rust nor corrosion on this vehicle anywhere as it would be expected from a California-lived Discovery II( hard-pressed condition to find in any Land Rover beyond the Sierra mountains). BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS COMING FROM THE EAST COAST~! ( it's beyond me why anyone would want to buy an East coast car with potential hidden rust ).

    This Trek comes fully equipped with all Trek event features such as:

    * Factory HD front springs
    * SAFARI GARD rock sliders
    * Rear skid plate
    * Rare Saudi grille
    * WARN factory winch
    * 16" FREESTYLE alloys
    * SAFETY DEVICES low-rise rack
    * Drive lights
    * 4 HELLA 150 auxiliary lights
    * 2 rear HELLA 100 work lights ( encased)
    * Rear access ladder
    * Mesh rack floor-lining
    * Tetra-fabric interior upholstery
    * Functional ACE steering system
    * Functional SLS system ( which works flawlessly)

    I have performed a thorough servicing of this Trek ( as I had never planned on selling it), and have also serviced and replaced many items, to include:

    * Complete oil change with SHELL Rotella 15W40 oil
    * Complete transmission service with KENDALL fluid and fact. kit
    * Complete coolant service ( to include a new thermostat) with PENTOSIN
    * NEW SKF water pump
    * NEW timing case cover
    * NEW oil pan gasket and end seals
    * NEW BOSCH MAF sensor ( airflow meter)
    * Two NEW BOSCH O2 sensors
    * NEW B.F GOODRICH tires front and rear
    * NEW TRW brake rotors AND pads front and rear
    * Complete differential drain, flush and refill with REDLINE
    * Complete transfer case drain, flush and refill with REDLINE
    * Complete ACE/ PS drain and refill with PENTOSIN
    * Complete brake flush and refill with CASTROL DOT-4
    * NEW MANN Air filter
    * NEW MANN cabin filter elements
    * NEW BOSCH new spark plugs
    * NEW heavy-duty spark plug wires
    * A/C recharge
    * Two new window regulators
    * NEW front windshield
    * NEW headliner from end to end
    * Driver's seat reupholster ( from normal wear)
    * NEW BOSCH high-amp battery
    * NEW LR extra-duty Radiator
    * NEW GATES fan-clutch

    In addition, I have also performed the most crucial and important service item: a complete top-end rebuild with fully machined heads and a head gasket set.
    That included pressure-testing and resurfacing of the heads, valve seats, guides, shims and seals. New plenum, valve covers, timing case cover and ancillary gaskets replaced as well, of course.

    Most standard features and amenities available at time of production. Clean factory 16" Freestyle alloy wheels, finished in black, along with a really-nice set of BFG radial tires mounted on them ( with approximately 95% tread remaining).

    Stock 4.0L BOSCH engine runs excellent. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, the 4.0 motor was a vast improvement over the earlier 3.9 engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of engine redesigning to increase displacement to a more efficient, reliable motor.
    NO overheating issues, ticking nor noises to contend with. NONE.

    Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears; it was replaced four years ago with a NEW unit ( not a rebuild). Updated driveshaft, Four-wheel Power disc brakes brake smoothly without pulsation. Power steering with ACE system, Power windows ( all four work), Power mirrors, Power seats, cruise control, factory HARMAN-KARDON stereo system and A/C.
    Transfer case and differentials engage smoothly and precisely, without noises, crunching or sloppiness.

    Finish is still in its original Molten orange event factory paint, to include all of its original decals ( minus the number 2 on the rear windows, and a missing HELLA decal). Still shines quite nicely. Some of the decals are weathered from age as expected. The body, chassis, undercarriage and every single angle and seam are super solid considering this TreK is seventeen years young !

    This rare, original Discovery Series II TreK is being sold unrestored and untouched, except for necessary maintenance and service which has already been performed, and the minimal cosmetics touches which have also been addressed.

    There is NO oxidation of the clearcoat on the hood or roof, a common ailment on many Rovers, specially East Coast examples where the elements and salted roads have taken their toll on the body panels and undercarriage, a hindrance nearly impossible to repair!

    Its original Technical-fabric upholstery is in very good condition and has held up very well. There are no cracks or tears on any of the leather bolsters in the seats. Overall, a clean interior, door panels and factory original heavy-duty knobbed matting.

    The photos show the TreK accurately. NON SMOKER vehicle, ever. A very solid, rust-free unrestored classic, with better-than-average miles and a good 4.0L engine.
    It runs excellent with a strong, solid powertrain. Drives very nicely on the freeway.
    Clean chassis, no tweaks and NO rust and nice interior. It will make an excellent traveler, camping vehicle or just a fun Land Rover to drive around as it is. The TreK is turn-key.

    I've been around Land Rovers for over 30 years, and have owned various models and vintages. Unlike the vast majority of sellers who simply sell what they do not know ( let alone car dealers!), I own a Land Rover ( actually, I own seven: a SWB, a DI, a 2010 Sport and four Discovery IIs) and I am fairly familiar with all their quirks.

    Feel free to call me with serious, pertinent questions at (650) 430-4660 PST. I have priced this rare Trek at fair market to sell. This is # 2 of only 15 ever built. According to the CT registry, there were only 11 surviving examples as of 2011. You simply cannot find these anywhere.
    Land Rovers are the best investment for the money, specially rare examples such as this Trek.
    * This is the most fun LR Discovery you will EVER want to own. $22,900 or B/O

    I am really, really hesitant to put it up for sale, and I am not looking for any trades or silly offers, thus, serious inquiries only by Land Rover enthusiasts or car collectors, please.

    Clear CA title with no liens or issues.

    I will be glad to assist coordination transportation/ delivery of the TreK anywhere nationwide or overseas at the most reasonable rate available. It can ship for under $1000 anywhere to the East coast.
