    1972 Series 3 88 - SOLD!

Series trucks have personality, mine just happened to not like me very much. Bought her in October of 2008, ran for about two years then a piston ring disintegrated and necessitated a complete engine rebuild. Below is a list of everything I have done to her in that time. It has sat for 22 months up to last week while the rebuild stalled. The rebuild was done by a friend who has been building engines all his life and only does things the correct way. Finally finished the rebuild then I burned the wiring harness when I snagged the hood prop on the hot lead of the headlights! Truck ran great, it has always shifted well and steered very tight and stopped straight. Electric fuel pump activated by a toggle switch on dash. I am offering the truck “as is” thinking that the next owner would want to customize the harness with the recommend relays, additional fuses or other modifications. I am willing to buy and install a stock wiring harness from Rovers North if requested. Asking $10,000 with the new harness installed.
New factory Land Rover rear leaf springs
    4 new shocks
5 new (95% tread) 16 in Federal Couraiga mud tires
    New fuel tank
    New fuel sender
    New alternator
    New Master cylinder (Brakes)
    All new wheel cylinders
    New brake pads
    New flex lines for brakes
Three drums turned, one drum new
Swivel balls rebuilt with new seals, bearings gaskets.
    New headlight buckets
New rubber boots on shifter, transfer and e-brake
New front and rear seals on transfer case
    New u-joints on front driveshaft
    New throw-out bearing on clutch
    Engine rebuild includes:
Cylinders bored out to .03 over
    New piston assemblies
    New main bearings
    New rod bearings
    All new gaskets and seals
    New Pertronix ignition and coil
    New exhaust manifold
    Valves redone prior to rebuild
    New 45D distributor
    New plug wires & plugs
    New muffler and tail pipe
    New NAPA 65 amp battery
    New thermostat
New radiator hoses (has a SIIA Radiator)
    New electric fuel pump (NAPA)
    Rebuilt Rochester carb
    High-lift jack & bottle jack
Rust proofed the inside of the frame with mixture of chain-bar oil and wax
Painted outside of frame with Rustoleum
    1970’s era cb radio included.

All spare parts, green bible, 90wt oil, 20’ tow strap and d-shackles included.

    The Bad:
It sat for 22 months outside, the window channels need replacing
Both front side markers need replacing –see photos
Front frame horns have some rust holes, still very solid but should be patched
Electric oil gage quit working since the rebuild, should replace with mechanical one anyhow.
I nicked one swivel ball when the wrench slipped, didn’t notice the burr and now get some weeping from the passenger side swivel ball.
HI-Low beam switch on turn signal quit working with the PO so he added a toggle switch to switch between beams.
Some rust on door bottoms – see photos

got the new harness installed and everything works! Truck sounds good and runs great!

Will have a guy here at work patch the frame horns this weekend (unless it's too hot outside!)

come on and make me an offer...before I take leave of my senses again
