1969 Land Rover Series IIa 109 Safari - !!!SOLD!!!

For Sale ** $8500 ** Located in Palo Alto CA
*Limited records, just mine, purchased from a private person in Georgia. I do know that it spent a great deal of time in Arizona and North Carolina. There is rust here and there, the most visible is at the left front door pillar and one of the outriggers on the frame rail (I can sent images of any and all if you want to pursue a bit). The pillar and the outrigger can be replaced pretty easily I am told. Frame and bulkhead are solid. One other oddity is the original right rear spring perch was removed and replaced by a piece of channel steel. This change does not seem to effect the integrity or ride of the truck. I have no idea what the mileage is on this truck. It is solid and reliable.

Here are some more details on the 1969 Rover Series IIa ~

*Rear fuel tank needs to be flushed and a filter needs to be fitted in-line between the tank and the control valve. (I now have 3 gallons of diesel in the tank to flush and to be reasonable safe to take out)
*Rear fuel tank sending unit needs replacement
*Rear tank sending unit needs to be connected to the gauge
*While the fuel tank is being worked on, the fuel pump should be moved from the engine bay to next to the control valve@ the forward fuel tank
*Exhaust leak (small, but it bugs me) at manifold, new stud kit/gasket (in hand) to be installed
*No back door latch has no key for the lock, I need to get a new key/cylinder for that part
    *Left rear seatbelt needs replacing
*Engine could use some new ignition wires, rotor, cap, mild tune up (valves set recently)
*Brakes are solid but pull slightly to the left under heavy braking pressure

    Good stuff ~
*Runs very well, small leaks, just a drip here and there
*Steering not loose at all, brakes solid but pull slightly to the left under really hard braking, otherwise tracks straight
*Has overdrive and it works well
    *New tires
*Truck rewired recently by a qualified mechanic (West Coast British) and fused correctly
    *Rear wheel mount kit
    *Rear wheel available with truck
*All fresh fluids, engine, both diffs, transfer, overdrive, hubs, brake fluid, coolant

Here are images and more information.

New owner is happy, so far! I'm working on the brakes issue, then I plan to tackle setting up the seat belts in the back for my kid's carseats.
