FS: 1971 Land Rover Series III, RHD, Massachusetts

This is a 1971 Land Rover Series III "88, right hand drive and imported directly from England in good running condition. This landie was legally imported this summer, and all customs paperwork is available. Asking $7,500.

The vehicle is fully registered, titled and I insured in Massachusetts as I do enjoy the drive. The state safety inspection was also passed in Sept 2013.

    88" wheelbase with ~103,000 miles.
4 spd manual trans, no overdrive.
    4cyl Gasoline Engine

    VIN 90100507A
    Engine 90277963E

    Pic set:

    Exterior
    - Overall solid body and chassis condition.
    - Firewall looks good, stringers look OK.
    - The body was hand rolled, thus paint quality is OK, but not picture smooth.
    - Currently a lighter blue color.
    - Slight rust on rear of car, left and right hand side just above rear bumper.
    - Safari style rack in good condition.
    - New rear mud guards from Britparts.
    - Tires are worn.
    - Roof looks to be original paint, good condition, some flaking on the edges.

    Interior
    - New rear bench seats from Britparts in UK.
    - Driver and center seat are good
    - Passenger leather seat is worn/cracked, could do with replacement, structurally OK.
    - Interior floor panels are solid, but shows wear as does the dash and door panels - repainted.
    - Door panels are green, aluminum plate in the rear.
    - Headlights, markers, rear tail lights all work.
    - Fog lights not working.
    - Interior lights work for dash and dome light.
    - Door locks all functional and keyed.
    - Fuel gauge works, as does speedometer.
    - Heater works, but the blower is squealing.

    Mechanical
    - Tires are worn, wheels are OK, black on one side, white on the other.
    - Trans shifts as expected (slow and deliberate)
    - Engine starts reliably, needs choke on cooler days.
    - Spark plugs replaced Oct 2013
    - Oil and filter Sept 2013, Mobil 1 10w40, high mileage.
    - New fan belt.
    - Carb could do with tuning.
    - Idles well, pulls all gears well.
    - E Brake works.
    - Brakes OK, these were never Brembo's when new !
    - I do use lead additive for this motor.

    History
    - Imported June 2013, driven locally on the South Shore (Hingham, MA)
    - Usage in the UK was in the south of England, estate in the Somerset area. I am the third owner, 2nd owner was my father.

Your Series looks like a good base for the vehicle I want to make a daily driver. If the price is right, I would like to come take a look. (I live in Wethersfield, CT.) What are you asking for your Series?
