1972 Land Rover Series 3 88”

I am considering selling my 1972 Land Rover Series 88”. Engine just blew and is not working and I’m not sure I want to deal with the business of rebuilding it or replacing it. 2.25 petrol. New in the past 8 months: 4 parabolic springs. New Atlantic British exhaust and muffler, new front rotors, and new drum brakes, new replica wolf wheels from England and Pirelli Scorpion mud tires (seriously brand new tires), new battery, new pertronix ignition and new Pertronix coil, new fuel tank gaskets, new mechanical fuel pump, new electric fuel pump too, new fuel line, I recovered the dash, added new high back seats. Roof rack has some rust and is functional but not for heavy loads. Needs paint but most everyone thinks the paint looks really good in the rough shape the paint is in. I’ve been told “do NOT repaint this truck” Bulkhead is very good but left side just in front of the door bottom will need some rust repair there, eventually. Frame is galvanized and Very good, It is not rusty underneath at all. Rear bed has normal aluminum corrosion where the brackets join to the frame. Front right bumper is slightly bent up as though a previous owner hit something like a fire hydrant and bumper has a slight angle to it upwards a bit on the right side, could be bent down. Not a pristine truck but it’s really great. And it drove great —- right up until the engine blew. Fuel gauge and water temp gauge quit working as did the speedometer and odometer. I have no idea what actual mileage is. Just needs a new engine. I am really open to a good rebuilt engine for a good price if you have one as well, because I’m really on the fence about selling it or rebuilding. It’s just that I can’t find any good engines for a price that seems reasonable yet. Love this truck and I have owned it just one year. I think a very good foundation for a restoration. Have the windows and the open tailgate and also the original 15” steel wheels and mud tires on those too. Make an offer if interested or pass me ideas about an engine if you have any. Many thanks.
