FS: ‘65 SIIA swb rhd ex-MOD

Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0675.jpg Views:	6 Size:	129.0 KB ID:	193177 This SIIA has been in the family since we bought it from an importer in VA in 1996. We had it shipped to MA and my parents made it's first maiden voyage to upstate NY*. It became my daily driver for about 4+ years before I put her in storage at my parents house before I moved overseas. It's been garaged since then. I'd like to put it back together and get it on the road but time and space are limited.

It’s a 1965 ex-MOD rhd swb petrol hard top. It’s got a pair of tanks under each front seat. Rear crossmember was replaced before it was sent to the US. Frame is solid, and bulkhead is ok (some rust but not catastrophic). There is some body corrosion in the tub where the military had riveted steel brackets for equipment. That has been properly repaired with a special Al-filled epoxy.

I converted it to 12v, put in a new radiator, redid the brakes and fixed a lot of other elements. Purchased parts from Rovers North, DAP, and British Atlantic. It’s got an overdrive and MOD oil cooler and oil temp gauge. Clutch, high and 4wd were all working fine. Driveshafts, diffs, and hubs were also good. It will probably need new springs and shocks.

Lots of spare parts including some from a second rover I bought for parts. Extra tranny, engine head, body parts, and new welded door frames. Body parts include an extra pickup bed, supporting brackets, door skins, hood, and sliding window roof sides. I had planned to get a lot of these secondary parts galvanized and then swap them into this rover. They are waiting for you!

It’s a bit of a project because I was tinkering with it on and off as I came home to visit my parents. I had bought a new Zenith carb years ago (yes, new old stock) & wiring harness that is not installed. It’s been parked (engine rotated regularly) but it was all running as my daily driver. It will need some attention but it's all there; some assembly required!

Titled and was registered in MA. Located in central MA.

    More details & pics below.

    Asking $10k

    * On that maiden voyage to Ithaca, I recall dad telling me he stared it in drive and they almost went into a large ditch

Thanks - Yes it has a good coat (multiple coats?) of dark green paint. Unfortunately, I did hit a deer and it damaged the left fender. I was unable to find the military style light-over-light front panel but with some more hunting i think one can be salvaged. The left door skin is somewhat dented too, but I have new skins and 2 new welded doorframes waiting for reassembly and matching green paint.
