    Pick up to Station wagon

Is it possible to convert a Pick up tpo a station wagon? I have a 1958 pick up with a banged up quarter panel on the pasengers rear which is to damaged to fix without cutting and welding or just repalcing the tub. So if I have to replace the tub is it more work to convert it to a wagon? Is there any major work other than swaping tubs. Thanks for the help in advance. Was also just thinking of putting on a soft top. If i go with the SW I will have a truck cab available for someone else.

Probably have more luck getting answer here - http://www.roversnorth.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17

Top change bolts on without issue - one of the great things about these. I did the same thing earlier this year and went from the cab to the full top. But I kept the p/u cab - I know I will want to put it back on one day.

      swap

I think he is talking about converting a 109 pick up to a 109 SW. It is a little more complicated when you are trying to add two doors plus a new top. I actually found a rover I knew from childhood today and after inspecting it with my new found knowledge of the series rover, it is a 109 pick up (or 3 door or 2 door for all you snooties on this forum). It is the first 109 I have ever seen in person. I found myself wondering what it would take to convert to a 5 door SW. I am somewhat of a purist but I also know that I just like cars, in general, so I know for sure that I could respect someone turning their rover into what they would rather have nowadays if they had to put on a new tub anyway.

Side note cause im rover crazy all the sudden, just bought my first series (an 88 SW) a few months ago and I am thinking of asking the owner of the 109 pick up that I mentioned if he would sell it to me. It looked the same as it did 8 years ago and it seems awfully tasty right about now.

Yeah I wondered about that. I went with assuming he had an 88"... a 109" is definitely more difficult.

There will be a lot involved. Even the frame is different. It's doable but if you ask me, you would be better served finding an old 5 door and fixing it up.
