1974 series 3 88 ex Mil project sold

Wts 1974 land rover series 3 88 swb ex Military, project

the land rover does run,it is a project, it has been sitting for a couple of years and either the clutch needs adjusted or the plates are stuck together, will shift into all gears but not when running, does not smoke when running, it did have a knock under load when I bought it *but I think we got that fixed when we switched to the 4 wheel drive transfer case, I can't check because the clutch is stuck as said above, it does not knock when idling or revving when out of gear only when in gear and under load it used to knock*

price is $3500 or best reasonable offer cash talks* another price drop $2700 obo, $2500 obo price drop again,$2300 OBRO let's get this sold price as of 8/3/11 I won't go much lower on the price SOLD

Email is the best and quickest way to contact me

Located in Kansas city, Missouri, I will not ship, bring a trailer and we will help load it up, the brakes work and it rolls, I have a battery to start the rover with and it comes with a battery that I don't know how good it is*

Engine is the stock 4 cylinder land rover and 4 speed transmission plus reverse of course*

clear title, not in my name but I have the bill of sale from the previous owner, I bought the rover as a project and lost interest and did not get it titled in my name, I have decided I want a ducati and am selling the rover to fund the ducati

the frame is very good with little to no rust, the Military put a coating of some kind on the frame to keep it from rusting and it is still there

the bulkhead had a couple of small rust spots in the floor board they are not very big i used a wire brush to take off the surface rust and painted them with krylon, the seats look good but are the old Military style low back seats one is vinyl and the other is cloth

all the electrical is hooked up and works, it has been converted from 24 volt to 12 volt, the carb has been rebuilt, the gas tanks have both been cleaned and sealed with por 15, it has a hard top that needs new window channel felt, i also have a vinyl soft top and hardware, but the plastic windows have faded and you can barley *see thru them, i have new plastic for the windows in the soft top, the vinyl soft top and hardware go with the rover*

the rover was originally 2 wheel drive and has been converted to 4 wheel drive, the front axle was switched to a differential and the transfer case was switched to a 4 wheel drive transfer case both land rover of course, I still have the original 2 wheel drive transfer case and it will go with the rover but do not have the original 2 wheel drive axle, I have the contact info for the person who bought the original axle though

I also have a spare wheel and tire and the service manual that will go with the rover too*

Carb has been rebuilt, has a k&n air filter and has a new clutch master cylinder*

    Will need to be trailered

milage is I am not sure if the speedo has rolled over but I don't think so being as how it idles good and revs good too

i do not need to sell, i have just lost interest and am selling to fund a ducati

Will only trade for a ducati *monster *with title, I can add cash too

Sold as is, cash or bank cashiers check only or will trade for a ducati monster with title*

This is a project keep that in mind, the series rovers are easy to work on though, the clutch could just be the plates stuck together from sitting, but I have lost interest and don't want to drop the transmission backwards to find out, the clutch pedal does move and the slave cylinder is not stuck, I pulled the slave cylinder apart because the piston was stuck but it is not now, and it does have a new clutch master cylinder*

have you considered ebay...or Bring a trailer.com? I cannot believe someone wouldnt snap that sucker up. I dont need any more but that looks like a good base to start playing with.

I had thought about eBay but have many horror stories about non paying buyers and would rather the rover go to someone in the community

I had not heard of bring a trailer .com

                    Thanks, I am surprised too
