    1974 series III-88 in SF, CA -- $16.5K - SOLD

i have owned this rover since 1988. i did a frame-off restoration in 1991-1994 on a new galvanized frame from rovers north; replacing almost every nut and bolt with stainless steel, and generally replacing anything that was worn, broken or exhibited any corrosion with land rover original parts. the car has been in california since the restoration was completed in 1994. i have spent the past 2.5 years on a major refresh with many new and hard to find land rover original parts. i have hundreds of pages of receipts and documentation representing tens of thousands of dollars of restoration and maintenance. the truck is available for viewing and test drive in san francisco, ca, usa.

everything works: outside lights, interior dome light, dimmable instrument lights, the front and rear wipers, the front windshield washers/squirters, the oil pressure gauge, the fuel gauge (and stock rover switch for seeing fuel level in both gas tanks), 2-speed heater blower, the overdrive, the rear defroster, the water temp gauge, the charge light, oil pressure warning light, front windscreen defroster, etc.

this rover is quite capable of highway speeds. i just took it out to livermore and back for a tuneup at west coast british and it had no trouble keeping up safely with traffic.

the odometer reads 13770. since the original frame-off restoration i've put 40700 miles on the clock. in the past 2.5 years while i've been going through the truck again with numerous new parts, restoration and major services, i've driven the truck under 500 miles... basically just enough to make sure everything is properly sorted.

here are two more videos of the truck:
