Series III with a good frame and body?

I have a 1974 series III that runs great. The frame finally went. I'd love to fix it, but it's too costly.
My mechnic suggested finding a less than perfect Series III with a good frame. We could drop my engine in or use my car for parts. Anyone? Thoughts? Thanks!!
